Prayer for 2021

John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him … ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,’ says the Lord, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty’” (Revelations 1:4,8)

Loving Father,

Thank You for this year 2020.  Though it seems strange to be grateful for this pandemic year, thank You for the unique experience of normal being taken away.  Thank You for reminding us that we can adapt and change and thrive in the things that are radically different.

Thank You for reminding us that we always have the amazing opportunity to know You more personally, purposefully, and passionately … and adjust our lives accordingly.  A life-changing truth we can lose sight of, like the churches in John’s revelation, when we refuse to see the truth of the life we are living.

Where we have become stagnant with contentment, help us to stand up in the power of grace and be propelled into loving action.

Where we are stalled or stuck because of fear of failure, help us to remember that our mistakes and our missteps can become our mission field.

Where we are rewriting the truth of your Word to suit our wants and desires, help us to feel the prompting of the Spirit to turn back to You and repent with our whole heart.

Where we are allowing ourselves to be seduced by the attitudes and ambitions of the world, help us to realize they will always leave us wanting more and feeling empty.

Where we have shut ourselves off from Your love and grace, help us to accept Your restorative touch that can heal every wound, hurt, and shame we carry.

Where we have given up on ourselves and lost the will to take the next step, help us to remember that You have created us with great purpose and are walking with us toward this purpose through our doubts and insecurities.

Where we have become indifferent or ignorant to the world around us, help us by infusing us with a divine compassion that is driven to help as we can.

Please help us to be courageous enough to live differently to find Your best life for us.  Help us to apply the faith we found, the patience we learned, and the endurance we developed in 2020 so we can become the people You created us to be.  AMEN!

Marie Fremin. 4/21/20 and 11/14/20.
